| Evening all,
Congratulations to you all - a total team effort to beat Bradenham and to win Division 1.
Vinay Parikh - what a legend. 148 off not many balls.
Chris Sheehy - great batting, the most improved Brooke player in my view.
Chris Banham - bowled quick and nasty.
Stu Hood - his best game behind the stumps, sharp stumpings.
Mike Warner - one for the future, full of talent.
Stu Pritty - should be bowling for England.
President's day is next Sunday (7th). Can you let me know if you're not available?
You've all been an absolute pleasure to Captain, the effort you have all put into your game is the reason we've won the league. We need to train even harder over the winter to make sure next season is successful......I'm sure you'll all put the effort in.
Cheers,
Rob.
-------------------------------------------------- Evening all, Brooke 1stXI are promoted back to the Premier Division! Well done to all who have played throughout the season, the hard work has paid off.
Saturday's visit to Sprowston resulted in a win, albeit with some tense moments! Brooke lost the toss and were inserted on an awfully damp pitch, not conducive to good cricket! Panter was dropped at least 3 times before 20, Prentice struggled through for a short while. Vinay made us all feel thoroughly inadequate by making batting look very easy until he was unfortunately run out courtesy of a Panter straight (?) drive deflected by the bowler....Panter went on to score 75, supported very well by Sheehy who made a positive 40, and Ingham finished the innings off with a swashbuckling 20-odd. A score of 188 was very competitive on such a bowler friendly pitch.
Sprowston's innings never really got going - thanks in the main to Stuart Pritty. What a legend - 6-25. With two wickets each for Parikh and Panter, Brooke finished the job off and have deservedly gained promotion.
Monday's visit to Brundall for the Biss Bowl final was a little more dissapointing, but some positives to take from the game. Brooke's innings got off to a good start, with Cushing and Panter adding 60-odd, until Panter gifted a catch. Cushing and Parikh pushed the score along, until some dubious umpiring accounted for our favorite Australian. Pritty looked in great touch, as did Sheehy (eventually) until he ran himself out. Our innings was finished off with some really good batting from Ingham and Warner (who's shoulders grow every week). A score of 172 was competitve, but we should have got 250-275 given our start and the ability of our batters - their bowlers were not world beaters.
Fakenham's overseas batting very well for 80-odd to win them the game for the loss of 4 wickets, we bowled ok, but too many loose deliveries and some suspect fielding (which is unlike us) did us no favours.
This Saturday is our last league game, against Bradenham at home. There will be nets at the ground, tomorrow night at 6pm, but I quite understand if you cant make it being as we played today. Vinay and I will be there from 6pm for anyone who would like a net.
Congratulations to the 2nd XI, who have gained promotion (and deservedly so). Paul has led his troops expertly.
All the best,
Pants.
------------------------------------------ Evening all, Great result yesterday, well done to you all.
We lost the toss, Beccles decided to bowl first. Our innings started well with Panter and Prentice adding 40-odd, before Panter plopped a poor half-volley to mid-on. Prentice continued with confidence, building a fine partnership with Vinay. Prentice eventually went for 43, a fine innings. Well done Ben. Vinay continued his recent form, hitting a fine 96 (should have been a hundred, but the Umpire gave 4 off the bat as leg byes!). Our middle order collapsed and we really didn't press on, as we should have. Nevertheless, a score of 210 was competitive (but we should have got 280 given our position at 30 overs).
Beccles started poorly, with a fine run out manufactured by Ingham. They started to build a partnership, until Pritty (2 wickets) and Panter (2 wickets) halted their progress with some tight bowling. We chipped away at wickets, Banham and Jackson being unlucky not to have taken wickets, having bowled very well. Habershon finished the job off, with 4-30 odd. Maximum points for Brooke, we're nearly there guys.
What impressed me more than anything was our attitude. Beccles had moments of awful behaviour, but we stuck to our game and were aggressive but fair, and didn't drop to their level.
As you all should know by now, training needs to continue at the same intensity we have been used to. Tuesday, 6pm start at the ground. Please let me know if you can't make it.
See you Tuesday, and well done again.
Rob.
----------------------------------------- Evening guys, Shame about the weather, but we're still top and no one else played, which is good.
The weather looks pretty shocking all week, but we'll aim to train on Tuesday at 6pm as usual, and if its raining we'll have a stab at Wednesday. If you dont hear from me, assume Tuesday is on.
We're missing 2, possibly 3 players this week - Warner has basketball commitments, Cushing is wasting an afternoon watching pub football (also known as NCFC), and Hoody may well be a Dad again this week.... So, please all come to nets and stake your place in the team!
We've three big games left guys, and I dont want to drop the intensity one notch. We've been great all year, and we have to keep training hard.
I know Vinay has some special plans for nets this week.....always a good reason to turn up.
See you Tuesday,
Pants.
ps. I've heard a vicious rumour that this weekend, Vinay has finally broken his duck. Furthermore, Ben Prentice ended up with a brace. Impressive.
---------------------------------------------- Evening guys, I can find no fault whatsoever in what we did today, we were brilliant, well done to you all.
We won the toss and decided to bat, reducing the overs to 30 in the light of the bad weather forecast. Cush decided that it was best to give Vinay a bat early on, and nicked the first ball of our innings to the keeper. Just goes to show that Cush is the complete team man. Vinay joined Panter, they put on 40-odd together before Panter missed a straight one. This brought our favourite grumpy batsman to the crease, who is adament he didn't enjoy his innnings of 75no but we all thought he was great! Pritty is getting somewhere near his best again, which is great to see. Vinay Parikh - all I can say is that the guy is an absolute legend, one in a million. 125no off not many balls.
Norwich finished their innings off at 100-odd for 9.....we just couldn't grab the last wicket. Habershon and Banham bowled really well together at the start, and both came back well for second spells. Pritty also bowled tidy, as did Panter. Habershon with 3 wickets, Panter with 2, Pritty and Banham with 1, Cush with 1. Our fielding was top drawer, as was our attitude and spirit.
I know that not all of the team are getting much of a game at the moment - I know some of you haven't batted in a while, and some of you would like more of a bowl. My apologies for this, we have 4 games left to finish the job off, and your chance will come! You've just got to be patient, we've all been in the situation where you've got your pads on for 30 overs. Its not great, but you've got to make sure that when your chance comes you take it.
Training is Tuesday, as usual. But we'll start at 7pm (as there's a game on - I've looked at the fixtures for once!). Can you all please make every effort to come along, and train hard.
See you Tuesday, and well done again. Pants.
--------------------------------------- Evening guys, Great effort today, well played to you all. A thoroughly professional performance.
Panter lost the toss again, so we were in the field for the first 46 overs. We improved on the bowling and fielding from last week, Habershon in particular bowled with good control, bowling 10 overs in his first spell. The middle of their innings was controlled by the spin duo of Cushing and Parikh, who built pressure and made it difficult to score. Cushing in particular bowled very well (well bowled Ray). Habershon finished with 3-40 off his 12 overs.
Cushing started well, only to give catching practise to mid-wicket. Panter edged one to the keeper off their left arm (round arm) bowler, which brought Pritty to the crease. SP batted with confidence from ball one, and built a good partnership with Vinay. SP went for 40-odd, Vinay continued. Sheehy played the most glorious cow shot (but missed the ball), leaving Timm to complete the job with Vinay, who finished on 87no, another great knock. Well done Vinay.
So, the hard work must continue guys. Training on Tuesday at 6pm, please all make the effort to come along.
Fines attached. Just remember they're only a bit of fun!
See you all on Tuesday.
Pants.
------------------------------------------------------- Evening Guys, Most of you boys are probably half-cut by now - and deservedly so. Well done today, a fantastic effort.
It was a game of two halves, excuse the pun. I thought our bowling was ordinary and our fielding poor. But that's not to take anything away from Saxlingham who batted very well on a good wicket. But, we should have restricted them to under 200, by taking catches and fielding as we all can.
So at tea we were a little dispondent with their total of 246-6.
But that was before Parikh and Sheehy got stuck in to Saxlingham. Panter went early, Cushing looked in fantastic form (next week will be yours Cush) only to dolly one to mid-off, and Pritty plopped one back to the bowler (be more positive next week mate!). Parikh and Sheehy came together at 40-3 and finished the job off. Sheehy on 105no, Parikh on 100no. They are both Brooke legends, the best batting I have seen since being at the Club, fantastic.
We're now top, and deservedly so. To stay there we need to keep working and improve our game in a few areas.
So, training on Tuesday. The weather forecast is good, so hopefully we'll be on the square. We'll also do plenty of fielding and fitness work. Keep up the hard work guys - I firmly believe that you get out of sport what you put in. The more effort that we put in, the more fortune will come our way. See you all on Tuesday. Pants. ---------------------------------------------- Evening guys, We were, once again, absolutely fantastic. A huge well done to you all.
Brooke batted first, and following the dismissal of Cushing (next week will be your week Cush!) Parikh and Panter built a solid foundation.....once Panter went for 36, Pritty supported Vinay well. Following Pritty came our favorite Kiwi Mr Heshee, who batted with confidence and freedom. Partherships are crucial to build totals, and Parikh and Sheehy's was a great effort. Vinay went on to register his second successive ton, being out on 102. This allowed Rich Timm to punish the Mattishall bowlers further - he even looked like he enjoyed batting.
The Mattishall innings never really got started, with Pritty, Habershon and Banham taking 7 wickets. Panter, Sheehy and our ever emerging off-spinner Cush with the other 3.
This was once again a very professional performance from an ever improving Brooke side.
If we are to continue our success guys, we must keep working hard. Training is Tuesday, 6pm. Please all make every effort to attend - we all owe it to our teammates to improve and work on our own game.....
As a little bit of fun and to raise some dosh for end of season, fines started today. See attached. This will hopefully encourage Prentice and his entourage to arrive on time!
See you all on Tuesday guys, and well done again. Keep up the hard work!
Pants.
---------------------------------------- Morning all, Good effort yesterday, it was a great game of cricket which Diss deserved to win. We are a better side, but they played the better cricket. They bowled well in the middle of our innings, and batted positively.
We can't win them all, and think of it this way - a team has to play as well as Diss to beat Brooke. On another day, we would have had some luck and the result would have been different.
Training is Tuesday guys, as always. Please all make a big effort this week.
There is a possibility that the Bernard Matthews Cup will be played either this or next week....I'm still waiting to hear from Norwich.
Between us we were late in phoning the result in, so there is a possibility that the league may try and dock us 5 points......several of us had assumed the other were sorted the result! My apologies for this - we're trying everything we can to smooth things over with the league in the hope that they will overlook our lateness!
Hope you all have fun at the 20/20, and see you Tuesday for 1stXI nets.
Rob.
------------------------------------------------------- Dear all, The first XI were, to be blunt, absolutely outstanding. A huge well done to you all - we are now starting to benefit from our hard work.
Saturday - batting first, Cushing and Panter set the tone with a positive start. The middle of the innings was well controlled and with wickets in hand, Vinay finished the Brooke innings off in some style. Special mention must go to Sheehy, Shearer and Pritty who all supported Vinay well toward the end. The bowling was tight and disciplined - Habby and Banham (on his comeback!) bowled tidy early spells. Banham with two early wickets set the tone. It was then over to Mr Grumpy, who bowled miserly and with intelligence. Pritty thoroughly deserved his 4 wickets. He was well supported by Vinay, Panter and Ben (Godfrey) Prentice. Our fielding was awesome throughout. Ben's juggle was especially coordinated.
Sunday - again, batting first we were off to a solid start with Panter and Daynes looking to be positive from ball one. Following Paul's departure, Vinay came and went, as did Pritty. Ben Prentice left his leg in the way of a straight one, Sturman gave the keeper catching practise and it was left to the best number 8 in world cricket, Habershon, to support Panter. Habby played some divine shots (notably the six over long-off). When Habby's luck ran out, Spoons played with the elegance of David Gower to finish the innings off with Panter, on 255. Panter carrying his bat for 131 not out. Our bowling and fielding was ok until about 25 overs, when Vinay decided to join the party - what a star! 6 for 24, including a hat-trick. Well done Vinay, you truly are an all-rounder. We finished their innings off in style, Stu Pritty bowling well at the end.
So guys, you all know the drill. We keep working hard in the week and our cricket will keep getting better. Training is back to the normal time of 6pm on Tuesday, so see you all then.
Pants.
----------------------------------------------------- Dear all, The 1stXI were absolutely fantastic - well done to you all! I thought the batting was excellent, Cushing (you should forget your glasses again!) looked in great form, Vinay played a sublime innings (and should have got a hundred!), Pritty is getting somewhere near his best. To post 188 off 36 overs in pretty horid conditions was a great effort. It was the tail who ensured we used our overs up and crept the score along, so well done Habby and Hoody (the best no.11 in Norfolk cricket).
The bowling was tight, and we bowled to our field. Our fielding was first class, and an absolute pleasure to see all of you diving around for the team! Its things like that which win cricket matches. Vinay and Panter with 3 wickets each, Pritty with 2 and Habby with a run out and the final wicket sealed the win.
A big thank you to the 2nd team for supporting us, after their game was called off. Great club spirit.
As always guys, really important that we continue our hard work on Tuesday. There's another U13 match at the ground, so we'll start at 7pm and do the same as last week, which worked well. Can all 1stXI squad please attend - we will keep getting better if we keep training. As you all know, training plays a big part in how the teams are selected.
See you all on Tuesday, and well done again.
Pants.
------------------------------------------------------------- Dear all, A change of plan re: 1stXI nets this week.
Most of you have other plans for Monday evening, so we'll revert to Tuesday as usual, but start at 7.15pm after the kids have finished their game. We should be fine though, as it wont be dark until 8.45pm ish....
Please let me know if you can't make it.
See you all Tuesday.
Pants.
15th June 2008 Dear all, A great weekend of cricket for the Club - well done to you all!
The first team won against Beccles, with Stuart Pritty and Jon Habershon ripping through their batting, supported by Nick Prentice, Spencer Jackson, Vinay Parikh and Panter. Even Chris Sheehy and Simon Cushing had a bowl! Our total of 180 never looked like being challenged. Great catching by Chris Sheehy, and solid keeping from Hoody.
The Brooke innings started well, with Panter and Cushing putting together a solid partnership. Others chipped in, with special mention to Sheehy (who is improving every week), and Spencer at the end of the innings. Whilst our total of 180 was enough to win us the game, I think we all know we should have eased passed 200, and it was the middle overs which we should have dominated with wickets in hand.
We've now moved up to 3rd in the table - we just need to keep focused, work hard at our game and keeping having fun!
The only night free for 1stXI training this week is Monday - apologies if this inconvenient for any of you.....but please try to make every effort to be there. We will select Saturday's team on the basis of not only what happens on match days, but also who puts in the miles at training.
I'm hoping that (in addition to Vinay and myself), Cush, Sheehy, Alex Ingham, the Prentice boys, SP, Mike Warner, Jon Andrews, Habby, Spencer, Banham, Sturman, Tristen, Mike Douglas (Chris - can you make sure he knows?), Spoons, Daynes, Rik Hayman can all come along. If any of you can't come along, please let me know. I know Timms is away on holiday, Hoody's away with work all week as is Shearer.
See you all tomorrow night, 6pm start.
Cheers,
Pants.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9th June 2008 Hi Guys,
Disappointing to be called off on Saturday, but not much can be done about the British weather!
Great effort by the guys who played on Sunday against Acle. I understand particular praise should go to SP, Habby, Nick and Spencer, all who bowled very well. I also understand that Mike Warner and Habby showed some steel batting in difficult conditions.
We can now concentrate on the league guys, and aim (week by week) to get as many points as we can and build our way up the table. What's important is that we take each game as it comes and not to look too far ahead....also incredibly important that we work our nuts off in the week.
This week:
Nets on Tuesday - 6pm start (or earlier if anyone can get there). All 1stXI squad to attend!
Vinay has a session planned (what he planned for last week!)
Thursday - Norfolk U19 play at the ground - Vinay and me will be around to help at the ground, so anyone free to help would be welcome!
Friday - Bernard Matthews Cup
vs Hethersett & Tas Valley (away) 5.30pm meet.
I have tried to rearrange, but not possible. Can you all please let me know if you would like to play? Vinay, Ali and Tristen will be needed at the Club for junior coaching......
Saturday - Away at Beccles.
Can you all (1stXI squad) please let me know your availability?
Thanks. See you all Tuesday.
Rob.
---------------------------------------------------------------- 2nd June 2008 I've heard great reports, a fantastic winning draw against norwich and a crushing win against wanderers! Well done to cush! Four of you reached the targets I set you....ben prentice, rich timm and chris sheehy with the bat, and vinay with the ball. So an orgasmic voucher for ben, rich and vinay (i guess chris doesn't want one!).
We play against stow
this week, and for the first time this season there will be a
selection headache! Don't forget that teams are selected on
training as well as match days, so put yourselves about on tuesday! Pants. --------------------------------------------------------------
25th May 2008 I know we've had a slightly disappointing start to our league season, but I think its important we don't overreact and over analyse.
I've heard various renditions of why and how we should improve, and most I entirely agree with.
Against Diss, we lost the toss and were stuck in on a shit track. We were bowled out for 112 (and with 2 poor run outs and at least 2 give away wickets we only had ourselves to blame). They got them for the loss of 4 wickets, and I thought we bowled and fielded pretty tidy.
Against Mattishall, we stuffed them out of site. Enough said. We were awesome.
Against Saxlingham. They batted very well - they put the bad ball away and hit several sixes off good balls. Difficult to set fields to! But, we should have chased down their total of 154 - a silly run out and probably 4 give away wickets didn't help.
Yesterday was a mixed bag. The wicket was a belter, and the outfield quick. I thought our bowling was good in patches, but too many loose deliveries which were put away. We did well to take 8 wickets, and were pushing to take the final two. They also got off to a flyer from lucky edges and mis-hits. Our batting lacked application, but to their credit they bowled well, and bowled far fewer loose deliveries than we did. But, their total of 217 should have been reached with ease - with the players we have on that wicket, we should have won.
Not one of our batters have hit a 50 in the league. Only Banham has produced match winning figures with the ball against Mattishall. Whilst cricket is a team game, individual performances win matches.
As for my captaincy so far guys, I am learning about you all as cricketers and men, and what you can do in certain situations. I think I have chopped and changed the bowling about too much in the hope of snatching wickets, rather than having faith in your ability, this I will try to change. The point has been made to me that I don't defend boundaries early enough - again, I will take this on board. I try to take wickets and build pressure, especially when new batters are in. I like to have faith in you to bowl one side of the sticks, and build pressure accordingly.
My shoulders are broad enough that if you have a suggestion or comment, however blunt it is, let me know! I know I'm not right all the time, but believe me I'm trying!
We need to believe in our own ability, and be more selfish when we're batting. We need to be more disciplined and controlled when we're bowling. And, we must keep having fun! We've worked so hard over the winter and pre-season, the results will come. We need to keep up the training and listen to Vinay - his views are spot on, and the level of intensity he plays his cricket at should be an example to us all.
As you know I'm on holiday next week - as much as I'm looking forward to time with my family I'm gutted I wont be playing with you guys against Norwich. Cush will be taking the reigns, so good luck Cush!
I'll see you all on Tuesday. In the meantime, please don't beat yourselves up, its a new game on Saturday and a good one to win.
See you next Tuesday.
Pants.

18th May 2008 Evening Guys, A mixed bag, more bad than good I'm afraid to say.
Saturday
Good
We turned up on time
We played in white
I thought Hoody's keeping was tidy, and Nick Prentice bowled well at the end. Oh, and Vinay bowled a tidy spell.
We were all thoroughly pissed off at losing, which is a great sign as it shows we all care.
To improve
We bowled both sides of the wicket - we need to get the consistency back
We were dull and flat in the field
Batting was awful - too much 'block or whack' batting.
Running between the wickets.
Sunday
Good
Batting was much improved against a decent attack.
Vinay played very well, as did Shearer. Their running between the wickets was excellent.
Sturman batted very well - full of confidence which is great.
Bowling was ok toward the end of Swardeston innings - the Prentice boys were the pick.
Fielding was tidy enough, although lots to work on.
To improve
Bowling consistency
Learn to bowl to a plan. All bowlers need to be thinking about where a guy scores his runs, and where to bowl to him.
Training is on Wednesday evening this week - 6pm start. If any of you wish to start earlier, great. I will try to get there for 5.30pm. I know the footie is on, but if we train hard till 7.30pm we can all watch it in the bar.
I'm confident we can get back to winning ways this weekend guys - just need to apply ourselves and work our nuts off.
See you wednesday,
Pants.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 12th May 2008 A great win - well done to you all.
I thought the bowling partnership of Banham and Habershon was first class - keep this up fella's and you'll be opening the bowling for Norfolk. The practice is paying off - I have complete confidence in you that if I set an off-side field, I know you'll bowl to it! The same applies to the other guys - and for SP, the guy is truly Brooke's answer to Jim Laker. Awesome.
Yesterdays results:
Can you all please make the effort to come to training on Tuesday, 6pm? Now that we've started winning, the best way to carry that on is to practise even harder....
Pants.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 5th May 2008 A mixed bag, lots of positives to draw from the weekend.
Good:
Bowling discipline was great
Fielding generally good
Attitude and commitment was good
Team spirit was fantastic
To improve:
Batting discipline & patience
Over rate
Fitness - especially bowling. Seamers need to be able to bowl 7-8 over spells....can be improved easily with a little work.
Whilst it was dissapointing to lose to Diss, who with respect to them we should have won comfortably, to win against Wanderers was a great team effort by all. Special mention to Banham, who bowled with aggression and control and thoroughly deserved his 5 wickets.
Please all make the effort to come to nets on Tuesday, 6pm start.
Pants. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 28th April 2008 Once again a fantasic effort from all concerned, our teamwork and attitude was a credit to Brooke Cricket Club and whilst we narrowly lost to a very strong Horsford side, we proved to ourselves that we can compete with the best in Norfolk.
Horsford's innings started slowly with disciplined bowling from Habershon and Hayman. Haymans perseverence paid off with two early wickets, one of whom was Horsford's Australian. On came Pritty, who bowled accurately and and miserly throughout his 9 over spell, going for a mergre 12 runs. Prentice, Panter, Cushing, Spooner, Sheehy and Sturman all bowled well in patches, although discipline needs to be improved if we are to contain the more freely scoring batsman. Hoods keeping was again consistent and reliable.
To contain Horsford to 214 was a great effort, although if we are honest we should have kept them to 170, and it was the period of 35-45 overs which demanded the extra bowling discipline. However, ground fielding and catching was improved on the previous week, with Ed Sturman deserving special mention.
Our innings got off to a tremendous start, with Simon Cushing dispatching their opening bowlers to all parts - how this man has not represented England is one of the true usolved mysteries of our time. Well supported by Ben Prentice, our opening pair laid a great foundation. Vinay Parikh added 40-odd, well made in the circumstances, his wicket fell forcing the pace again. Stuart Pritty and Chris Sheehy played some flamboyant attacking shots. However, it was left to Hood again, with the support of Habershon, to close the Brooke innings, just short of the Horsford total.
I know Horsford thoroughly enjoyed the game, and were pleasantly surprised at the competitiveness of Brooke and the way in which we approached the game. If we all keep level headed and work hard throughout the season, continuing to have fun, we'll be fine.
Things to work on this week - giving wickets away (playing strong shots), bowling disciplines.
Well done everyone - next weekend marks the start of the serious stuff, so make sure you're all at training on Tuesday.
RP. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
22nd April 2008 Whilst we narrowly lost the result was less important than the practise you guys had, in a match situation. We've all worked very hard over the winter so to put to use some of the things we've learnt was great to see. Old Buckenham got off to a bit of a flyer, but our opening bowling pair of Spooner and Habershon bowled well. Our change bowlers of Prentice (x2), Pritty, Read, Parikh, Sheehy and Panter all bowled tightly, and more so as the Old Buckenham innings came to a close as we bowled them out for 192. Chris Sheehy deserves special mention with 3 wickets, and not a bad ball bowled (but please dont remind us of this every week mate!). Hoods keeping was tight, in general the fielding was ok, but a little rusty.
Brooke's innings got off to a solid start with Sheehy and Ben Prentice looking tight in defence, putting the bad ball away. When Sheehy played a false shot to a bad ball Vinay Parikh came to the wicket, looking a class act from his first ball. Ben progressed to 20-odd, batting confidently when his wicket fell, Panter coming into bat at no.4. Panter and Parikh pushed the score on from 50-2 to 170-2, Vinay in particular playing some wonderful shots, vindicating his pedigree as a fine player. Panter was caught on the boundary trying to force the scoring rate, Parikh following shortly after for a well made 87. Stuart Hood, Pritty and Habershon batted well toward the end of our innings, but we fell short of the total. However, the manner in which we played was encouraging - great attitude, team spirit and concentration throughout, and against a Premier Division side.
Things to work on during the week - bowling discipline, batting shot selection, tactics for forcing the play on a run chase. We've a different prospect on Saturday against Horsford, so we need to up our game another notch.
RP.
