Match Report - Alliance Division One vs Sprowston (away)
Brooke beat Bradenham by 145 runs and were confirmed as champions.
We were put in to bat and made what must be our largest ever innings total – 304 for 5 in 46 overs. Vinay Parikh was excellent again, scoring 148 from 96 balls faced, with 13 4s and 9 6s. Chris Sheehy made a very good 68 not out from 58 balls, with 6 4s and 4 6s, and these two put together a stand of 154 for the 4th wicket.
Brooke’s bowlers performed superbly and Bradenham were bundled out for 159. Stuart Pritty took 4 for 18, Chris Banham 4 for 38 and Michael Warner 2 for 35. As throughout the season, Rob Panter skippered the side well and this emphatic victory was a fitting way to round off 2008.

Match Report - Alliance Division One vs Sprowston (away)
Sprowston won the toss and put Brooke in on a damp wicket which made batting difficult. Vinay Parikh was unluckily run out, but Rob Panter led the recovery with 75, while Chris Sheehy with 40 and Alex Ingham with 24 from 15 balls helped Brooke to 188 for 8 in 46 overs. Sprowston skipper Geoff Roff was their top bowler with 3 for 43.
Stuart Pritty opened the bowling for Brooke and in 2 superb spells took 6 for 25 in 11.5 overs. Rob Panter took 2 for 12 and Vinay Parikh 2 for 23 as Sprowston were all out for 151, leaving us winners by 37 runs. Geoff Roff hit 40 not out in only 18 balls faced to threaten our total near the end, but our promotion to the Premier Division was eventually confirmed when Stuart bowled the last man

Match Report - Alliance Division One vs Beccles (home)
Brooke increased their lead at the top of Division One with a 55 run win over bottom placed Beccles. Run machine Vinay Parikh was again the star, hitting 96 off 90 balls, but it was only Ben Prentice, making a very good 43, who gave him any support. Daniel Vihm bowled well for Beccles, taking 3 for 27 in 11 overs.
Richard Turrell was top scorer for Beccles with 51, but John Habershon recorded his best league bowling figures this season with 4 for 37 as the away side were all out for 155 with 3 overs left. Rob Panter took 2 for 21 and Stuart Pritty 2 for 39

Saturday 2nd August
Match Report - Alliance Division One vs Norwich (home)
The match was reduced to 30 overs after rain before the start and the threat of more to come. After losing both openers, Vinay Parikh and Stuart Pritty batted brilliantly and put together an unbroken partnership of 192 to get Brooke to 233 for 2 in their 30 overs. Vinay’s 124 not out came from 93 balls and included 11 4s and 7 6s. Stuart hit 79 not out in 54 balls faced, with 6 4s and 5 6s.
Despite 3 for 41 from John Habershon and 2 for 17 from Rob Panter, Norwich hung on and ended on 126 for 9. 18 points for Brooke and 6 for Norwich.

Saturday 26th July
Match Report - Alliance Division One vs Bradfield (Away)
Match report 26th July Brooke were put in the field on a hot, sunny day at Bradfield, but good bowling and fielding restricted the home side to 175 for 9 in their 46 overs. Nick Grapes (42) top-scored for Bradfield with John Habershon, 3 for 40, and Simon Cushing, 2 for 27, being the pick of the bowlers.
After both our openers went cheaply, Vinay Parikh and Stuart Pritty put together an excellent stand of 96 in 15 overs. Stuart's 45 came at a run a ball, while Vinay's 87 not out was his 5th huge score in consecutive league matches, where he has scored 483 runs and only out twice! We comfortably achieved the target in 38 overs for the loss of 4 wickets.

Saturday 19th July
Match Report - Alliance Division One vs Saxlingham (Home)
Saxlingham won the toss and batted, scoring 246 for 6 in their 46 overs. Our bowlers found it tough going on a good batting surface - Stuart Pritty took 2 for 44, Vinay Parikh 2 for 69, John Habershon 1 for 24 and Chris Banham 1 for 68.
Brooke's batting stuttered at first and after 12 overs we were 40 for 3. Those lucky enough to be present then saw a magnificent unbroken 4th wicket partnership of 208 between Vinay Parikh and Chris Sheehy, which won us the match by 7 wickets. Vinay hit 100 not out in only 71 balls and his third consecutive ton in the league included 7 4s and 8 6s. Chris scored a brilliant 105 not out, his first century for the club (92 balls faced, 11 4s and 5 6s).

Saturday 12th July
Match Report - Alliance Division One vs Mattishall (Away)
Mattishall won the toss and inserted Brooke, who made 221 for 6 in their 46 overs. Highlight of the innings was an excellent 102 from Vinay Parikh , his second successive ton in the Alliance . Rob Panter and Chris Sheehy, who each made 36, gave good support. Richard Timm hit 23 not out, again boosting his batting average!
Mattishall lost early wickets in their reply and were soon 25 for 4 after 12 overs. An aggressive 69 from Garth Stoltz got Mattishall to 115, but no other batsman reached double figures and they lost by 106 runs. Pick of our bowlers were John Habershon with 3 for 30 and Chris Banham who took 3 for 38 while Stuart Hood snapped up 4 good catches behind the stumps.

Saturday 5th July
Match Report - Alliance Division One vs Diss (Home)
After some early showers, Brooke won the toss and elected to bat first. Rob Panter and Vinay Parikh negotiated the tough conditions and took Brooke to 90 before Rob was caught at long-off for 29. Brooke continued to score freely and pushed on to 254 for /9 with Vinay scoring 100 off just 91 balls and solid contributions from Habershon, Timm and Ingham.
The Diss reply started poorly as they lost 3 wickets in the first 10 overs but Chris Cooper set the run chase back on track before being dismissed to an excellent catch by keeper Stuart Hood. Wickets fell at regular intervals, however, the runs continued to be scored at the required rate as Diss edged over the line in the second last over with 3 wickets to spare.
This is the first time we have lost in the league since the first match of the season away to Diss and the team will be looking to get back on track against Mattishall next Saturday.

Saturday 29th June
Match Report - Alliance Division One vs Bradenham (Away)
Brooke won the toss and batted first. A fine opening partnership of 92 from Rob Panter , who made 60 and Simon Cushing, 31, set the innings up nicely and an amazing knock from Vinay Parikh saw us total 246 for 5 in the 46 overs. Vinay ended on 94 not out from 70 balls faced and hit 8 4s and 4 6s.
Bradenham’s reply never really got going and with Stuart Pritty taking 4 for 24, Chris Banham 2 for 29 and John Habershon 2 for 43, they were all out for 135 in 43.4 overs. Ben Prentice supported the bowlers well, taking 3 good catches at the end.
